The Mission of Southwest Michigan Human Trafficking Task Force is to educate and bring awareness to the communities of SW Michigan about human trafficking and to further develop a plan for a victim-centered approach using a multidisciplinary team. The SWMHTTF is a collaboration of law enforcement, non-governmental organizations, faith based organizations and concerned citizens.
Human trafficking is the fastest growing criminal industry in the world and is considered the second largest criminal enterprise in the world, only surpassed by the sale of drugs. It is estimated that it is over a $32 BILLION dollar industry. There are two distinct forms of trafficking: Sex & Labor and involves the exploitation of a person through force, fraud, or coercion. The SW MI Human Trafficking Task Force is committed to raising awareness and educating others about the realities of human trafficking. Funds raised through Bravelet purchases will help provide law enforcement, hospitality, education, healthcare, social services, or the general public with updated training in the field of anti-human trafficking.
